Little Bavaria was as wonderful as our son said it would be! We actually added an extra day to our itinerary just so we could come here for dinner ! We were coming from our holiday in Ucuelet and we are so glad we made this a stop on our Vancouver Island trip! It was our son’s third visit here and our first! We were welcomed warmly and they gladly took us in before our reservation time with the weather being awful! Our seat was unfortunately tucked a bit away in a back booth but other than that it was just fabulous! Our server was lovely! We ordered the Bavaria platter for 3 people and it was an incredible amount of food we weren’t close to finishing! We had a lot of lefty! It was really good and beautifully presented! We all enjoyed a fabulous German meal! We have visited Bavaria Germany 4 times and this certainly gave us all of the Vibes and atmosphere we needed! What really impressed us was the owner coming by the table to ask us how we enjoyed everything and thanked us for coming! That is very rare these days and it does make a huge impression! I think we were the only non locals in the restaurant! They seemed to recognize a fair amount of people! We overheard a gentleman saying he has been coming for 50 years! Reservations an absolute must!

Came here without reservation and was lucky to get a table for one. Service is great. People are very friendly. The food is so authentic... let me tell you: I'm a Belgian man who's here on a holiday and I'm not particulary fond of German food. But this food was so home made. It made me forget I'm in North America in a good way. Don't change a thing!

We had our Easter dinner last night and it was very pleasant and tasty experience. Food was great ( Bavarian plate for two was massive so it’s dinner and lunch for the next day). Then Black Forest cake to share( we couldn’t eat anymore haha). Thank to our server, Ashley M. we got to try lemon chocolate cake too which was fantastic. Service was over the top. Ashley M. took care of us like we are VIP’s haha She was absolutely amazing! Other staff members as well. They made us feel like we had dinner at home which I didn’t have to cook ;). The restaurant is celebrating 60th anniversary next year and that says a lot. Thank you!

We 7 had supper on a Sunday. It's not a big place, so reservations are strongly recommended. The welcome was friendly and we were seated after our tables were bussed. Our server was polite, friendly and professional. We had beers and cocktails first; they came quickly and they were fine. We ordered. We received a basket of bread and tasty rye bread. We'd finished our cocktails when the mains came. All came with soup or salad. All were very large servings and were all very well prepared. We got one dessert and two specialty coffees to finish. We each left with a take out box! Overall we can highly recommend this restaurant for good German food if in Port Alberni.
